infierno de los galgos, un pueblo para no
recordar.

A town that is best to forget.
El pasado día 20 de Julio de 2007, tres
voluntarias de Kimba fueron al pueblo de
Paterna de Rivera por tener constancia del
abandono máximo de galgos, podencos y en
general de perros utilizados para la caza
que todos los años existe en éste pueblo,
el cual es un verdadero infierno para
estos pobres animales como podéis ver en
las fotos y videos que Kimba tomó en estos
días que visitamos éste pueblo tan moderno
y “europeo”.
This past July 20th, 2007, three
volunteers from Kimba went to the town of
Paterna de Rivera to look for reasons as
to the huge abandonment of galgos,
podencos, and in general, dogs used for
hunting, that exists every year in this
town. The town is a living hell for
these poor animals, as you can see in the
pictures and videos that Kimba took on
these couple of days that we visited this
very modern and "European" town.
Los voluntarios fueron con intención de
rescatar algunos de ellos, buscarles
familias, darles una vida digna, y de ésta
forma contribuir directamente a la
seguridad de los animales que
malviven por las calles y campos de
Paterna de Rivera.
The volunteers went with intentions of
rescuing some of the animals, finding them
families, giving them a dignified life,
and in this manner directly contributing
to the safety of the animals who live so poorly in
the streets and in the fields of Paterna
de Rivera.

Después de rescatar a la pequeña,
realizaron una búsqueda para ver si había
más perros que ese energúmeno hubiera
tirado al río.
After rescuing the little dog, they
conducted a search to see if there were
other dogs that had been thrown into the
river by that imbecile.
Encontrando dos galgos y un podenco en una
asquerosa construcción artesanal en la
montaña y todos en unas condiciones
tremendamente lamentables, sin agua, sin
comida, viviendo entre excrementos,
amarrados con cadenas al techo y
completamente cubiertos de pulgas y
garrapatas.
Y por otra parte en frente de ellos una
familia en bañador despellejando una
pequeña ternera colgada del cuello en un
árbol en compañía de niños pequeños.
They found two galgos and a podenco in a
man-made shack on the side of a mountain,
and all of them in terribly lamentable
conditions, without food or water, living
among excrements, tied with chains to the
ceiling, and all of them infested with
fleas and ticks.
And across from them was a family, in swim
suits, skinning a calf who was hanging by
its neck from a tree, and all of this with
small children present.
Estamos seguros que la situación de esos
animales, igual que la vimos nosotros, lo
han tenido que ver personas del pueblo,
dejando a esos pobres infelices consumirse
entre excrementos y lamentos, como podéis
comprobar en las fotos y video que os
enviamos .
We are certain that other people in that
town have witnessed, just as we did, the
situation with the animals, who are
surrounded by excrements and lament, as
you can see in the pictures and the videos
that are sending to you
Ese mismo día pudieron ver muchos galgos
abandonados por el pueblo y por sus
alrededores, entre ellos una preciosa
galguita embarazada y a punto de tener sus
cachorros (la podéis ver en las fotos que
os enviamos).
That same day we saw many abandoned galgos
in and around the town, among them a
beautiful pregnant little galgo, on the
verge of giving birth to her puppies (you
can see her in the picutures that we're
sending).
Con la mala suerte de no poderla coger ese
mismo día , mala suerte porque cuando
volvimos a los dos días, a esa pobre
galga la encontramos tal como la veis, en
una de las calles del pueblo donde los
coches no pueden ir a gran velocidad y con
la dificultad que tenia la pobre galga
para moverse debido a su embarazo, el
cateto que la atropelló lo hizo de día, a
plena luz ya que cuando llegamos estaba
recién atropellada, un verdadero crimen de
un animal que solo ha hecho servir a su
maldito galguero y una vez utilizada ha
sido desechada como si fuera un material
inerte.
As bad luck would have it, we were unable
to catch her that day. Bad luck because
when we returned two days later, we found
that poor galgo as you can see, on one of
the streets in town, where cars cannot
travel at a very high speed. The poor dog
had difficulty moving due to her pregnancy,
and so the dimwit who ran over her, did it
in broad daylight, and when we arrived, it
had just happened. Truly a crime, that an
animal had only lived only to serve a
galguero, and once used, she was discarded
as if she were an inanimate object.
Una verdadera vergüenza de pueblo en el
que en otras ocasiones hemos visto como
galgueros en ciclomotores llevan
amarrados varios galgos corriendo por las
aceras y carreteras de éste pueblo,
incluso hemos visto como una vez un
galguero en ciclomotor con cuatro galgos
corriendo por la carretera, fue adelantado
por un coche de la policía local y estos
no le dijeron absolutamente nada.
A true disgrace of a town, one that on
other occasions we have seen galgueros on
motor scooters with a few galgos tied to
the cycle and running alongside on the
sidewalks or in the streets. We even saw
once a galguero on a motor scooter with
four galgos tied to it and running along
side on the highway. They were passed by
a police car, and the police did
absolutely nothing.
La única alegría y belleza que nos
llevamos de Paterna de Rivera son los
sufridos galgos y al podenco del zulo y a
las dos pequeñas que quisieron matar en el
río, y gracias a la magnifica actuación
del Seprona pudimos sacar de ese espantoso
lugar donde los tenían esos sinvergüenzas
galgueros.
The only beauty and happiness that we took
from Paterna de Rivera are the long-suffering
galgos and podenco from that hiding place,
along with the little dogs who had been
thrown into the river. Thanks to the great
help from the Seprona (division of the
Guardia Civil for the conservancy of
nature), we were able to remove them all
from that disgusting location where those
despicable galgueros had them locked up.
…. Y ahora se
encuentran felizmente en Kimba,
desparasitados, con comida, agua y
cumplida todas sus necesidades en espera
de familias
.....And so now they
are all happy at Kimba. They have had
their anti parasite treatment, they've had
food and water to their hearts' content,
and all of the necessary requirements
have been fulfilled for their adoptions
