Galgo in deplorable health

Life’s irony.

Today, the 14th of September, we decided to send Cervantes to Mo of Pro Galgos with Vic in Barcelona, so that he could be sent to his new family. By letting him out of the shelter, he wriggled himself out of his collar and fled into the country. Due to the terrible way he was treated, he is so scared that he trusts nobody. He disappeared in the area of Chiclana. If anybody sees him, please contact us!

     31/07/2004      A badly wounded galgo has been left at our shelter.

 We called him “Cervantes” . He lost a part of his paw, because he has been caught in a trap. These traps are all over the country of Andalusia, placed there by the sorry excuses of human beings that call hunting a sport.He has injuries all over his body and his health is very bad all over.

           03/08/2004   This morning Cervantes has been operated by Dr. Santiago Grosso from the  veterinary surgery clinic Plaza de España of Cádiz The operation went well, taking in consideration the big risks of an amputation with an animal in such poor physical condition (they had to amputate his whole leg because the leg was in such a bad state). He is now staying with one of our volunteers at her home, because he needs intensive care, which he can not receive at the shelter.

06/08/2004                PRO-GALGO  TAKES CERVANTES IN.

As soon as CERVANTES has finished his treatment, he will be going to stay with Vic.

The moment that the vet decides that it is safe for Cervantes to travel, he will be send to Vic (Barcelona) to recuperate further. Once he is well enough, they will do their utmost best to find a family for him somewhere in Europe...
